Mamsha ahl Masr Objectives

Provide public access to the Nile's waterfront, which can be problematic due to the privatisation of portions of the Corniche that have been assigned to clubs and restaurants. We are lucky as we can see Aisha Fahmi Palace as our special view.

Generate enough revenue for "project maintenance and sustainability" through creating commercial opportunities.

To reunite the Corniche with Cairo's centre and incorporate it into the city's visual and physical character.

Mamsha Ahl Masr Statue

The statue was unveiled in Cairo's Nile Corniche, "Mamsha Ahl Masr." The statue was created by Egyptian artist Ahmed Moussa, a lecturer at the Faculty of Fine Arts' Sculpture department.

"The statue's sitting stance and clothing were influenced by ancient Egyptian statues, but with a contemporary vision," Moussa said as per article we read

Passers-by are mesmerised by a massive iron statue of a woman sitting and raising her hand as if taking water from the sky to nourish the soil — a symbol of the Nile's Magnificence

Mamsha ahl Masr 3 Phase:

  • The first phase is now completed and is being completed, as the piling works (Nile and beach) have been completed with a total of 1,843 pilings, and the concrete structure works have been completed by 100% for all buildings, and the construction of the floating restaurant is being completed.
  • The second phase includes the construction of a gradual walkway along the Corniche with a length of 4.7 km. The project consists of 19 structures, including 5 restaurants and 5 cafeterias, 62 stores, 3 garages with a total capacity of 180 cars, 3 terraces with a total length of 315 m and a seating capacity of 1240 people, and a theatre with a seating capacity of 772 people.
  • The third phase is divided into two sectors, the first of which runs from the Tahya Misr Bridge to the Sahel Bridge and the second of which runs from the Qasr Al-Nil Bridge to the Qasr Al-Aini Bridge.
